The Vision

Alleviating suffering, abolishing poverty worldwide...in the name of Jesus!

In a world darkened with sin, suffering, and injustice there is one liberating light that brings hope to all people...the gospel of Jesus Christ!

A lonely widow sits on her porch as a child with a runny nose and no shoes plays in the street. On the corner, a desperate woman sells herself to feed her addiction, while an ambitious young man with a gun counts his money after his last drug deal.

These are the faces of the inner city - faces of people we minister to daily at Provision. This inner city tragedy is often overlooked, but God sees. He created these very lives for a specific purpose and plan. Yet, they are lost in a forgotten wasteland of poverty, drugs, prostitution, and violence, located in the heart of every large city in the world.

These people are the reason Provision exists.

Provision Ministries was founded in 1992 by a group of young men who began seeking the Lord through prayer. Their search was answered with these words of Jesus,

"Whatever you did for one of the least of these my brothers, you did for me."

In response to God's Word, they stepped out in faith and began to minister to the needs of the homeless in downtown Nashville. As they touched the broken, their hearts were broken for the poor and the lost, and the vision began to grow. That vision is Provision International.

Based out of an abandoned warehouse called THE FOUNDRY, creative compassion began to flow. Over the years, the ministry has reached from the streets to prisons, nursing homes, youth detention centers, and into the nations. From the beginning, Provision has simply been about meeting needs, in the name of Jesus. Wherever you find the lonely, the suffering, and the hopeless, that is where we are committed to be.

The need is great, and we have only just begun! We invite you to join us in the fight to alleviate suffering and abolish poverty worldwide.

"...let us not love with words or tongue, but with action and truth."
(1 John 3:18)
